But once I got to RPI and more specifically because a DJ on WRPI, I found that I liked some of it, and knew a lot about it, so why not take advantage of that fact to work some of it into the airplay?<BR/><BR/>The result was part of my signature mix of Progressive Rock, hard core folk, Indian Sarod and Venu, plus Waylon, Willie, Jimmy Buffet, and the occassional flashback all the way to Hank Sr., or Tennessee Ernie Ford.<BR/><BR/>As for Nashburg, I think that some people just call it that. That his actors wrote and performed much of the film's score could be read as near-infinite satire, that it served as a gateway drug to buying country albums ... go figure.<BR/><BR/>I still get chills listening to the finale version of "It Don't Worry Me", when the <A HREF="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barbara_Harris_%28actress%29" REL="nofollow">waitress</A> finds the tune.<BR/><BR/>BTW, my brother worked for a sound company that serviced several Nashville-based acts with recognizable names.
