Deuterium fusion, on the other hand, takes advantage of some stuff left over from the Big Bang.

There's fossil fuels, and then there's the other stuff.

The idea of the Capitalist Hero is that he can move men through the power of Greed and Trade, as opposed to the power of Greed and Force. I can see the attraction, but it is, as you say, a bit of denial. There is always Force behind the law, especially laws governing Property.

I do think that the ultimate principle is "People don't have to like me if I have enough money." For social misfits, that's very attractive. Of course, when people have a lot of money, they never really know if people like them, so there's an ironic tradeoff at work.James Killushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08265296146264452333noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5071936218849577375.post-1837643993527571062008-02-29T06:25:00.000-08:002008-02-29T06:25:00.000-08:00Moreover, it's overall power balance will be posit...Moreover, it's overall power balance will be positive; it will generate considerably more power than it consumes.

The power surplus is the residue of matter simplifying minus a few pieces now expressed as energy? (My understanding of technical matters is pretty much limited to "There ain't no such thing as a free lunch.")

In re: the anti-socialism of the Capitalist Hero. There's some jaw-dropping denial here. A functioning economy is a social construct, plain & simple. No social cooperation, no railroads, no market for steel rails, no distribution network for fossil fuels. Maintaining an internal vision that asserts it is right for me to finagle your cooperation to my ends and it is wrong for me to lend my cooperation to yours (ours!) is a more than full time job. So of course: There Will Be Blood.

(And never take a meeting with a Capitalist Hero at his private bowling alley.)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
